    I think the Groups URL could only be used for GNUSocial and GNUSocial accounts, but I sent the link as an example of what would be nice to see.

    Yes, having it federated would definitely be awesome. It's been Dec 2017 since the last commit here and it seems that Mastodon (and Pleroma) would have more of a shot implementing this.
